Education

The Foundation's Education efforts consist of two programs as well as two additional areas of focus.  The two progams, the Dorot Fellowship in Israel and the Dorot Travel Grants, both support the education of young people through travel and study in Israel.  However, the programs have very different goals and criteria.

The Dorot Fellowship in Israel is an intensive, one-year, post-collegiate program designed for future American Jewish lay leaders. For information on the Fellowship, click here.

The Dorot Travel Grants program provides block grants to selected public and private colleges and universities in North America to support mainly undergraduates (up to 20% of funds may be spent on graduate students) in travel to and study in Israel. For more information on Dorot Travel Grants, click here.

Additional support provided through the Education area falls into two areas: Programs that aim to help young Jews (approximately 22-39) integrate the Jewish aspect of their identity with the other aspects of their identity; and pre-professional internships/fellowships at Jewish communal agencies.

Please Note: Previously, the Foundation endowed academic appointments at a limited number of universities to help build the field of Jewish Studies in the United States. The Foundation no longer provides such support.
